As for the red itself, there are three varieties to choose from. The first is a deliciously smooth, medium bodied Italian wine that’s bursting with aromas of ripe, dark berry fruits. Deep cherry-red in colour, it has a silky smooth palate with hints of vanilla spice and cherries. What’s more, this well balanced, easy-drinking wine is great to enjoy on its own, or with steaks, spicy dishes and mature cheeses.

The second option is a soft, fruity Vin de Pays from the sunny vineyards of southern France. Made using a blend of carignan and merlot grapes, it’s a wine full of ripe, red fruit flavour, with a really smooth finish. Better still, it’s great with a huge range of foods or on its own.

And finally, there’s the best of the bunch – the Appelation Controllee. Made from our best cuvées of this vintage, this Côtes du Rhône “Gentilhomme” has been aged in large oak barrels in ancient cellars. The ageing in barrels results in aromas of vanilla, cocoa, spices and leather that go brilliantly with red meats and cheeses.
