Ipswich Town Personalised Football Calendar

Brilliant Gift Ideas For Fans Of The Blues!

Ipswich Town football club, originally formed in 1876, was invited to join the professional football league in 1938. Ipswich would go on to play in the top flight and win a selection of the top trophies in club football, such as the First Division and the FA Cup. In 1981, domestic success extended onto the continent, as the Blues beat AZ Alkmaar to claim the prestigious UEFA Cup. The club thrived under the management of Sir Alf Ramsey and then Sir Bobby Robson. Both men took charge of Ipswich Town FC as their first major job in coaching, and as a result of their triumphant time with the club, both Ramsey and Robson would also go on to manage England.

Our Personalised Ipswich Town Calendars are a special gift idea for fans of the Blues, as they reminisce upon some of the finest performances and results that the team has enjoyed since turning professional. Featuring twelve reproduced match reports from our newspaper archives, these A3 Calendars also have the added benefit of starting from the month of your choice.

Calendar Highlights

These special Personalised Ipswich Town Calendars begin with the club's election into the Third Division in 1938 and move on to a selection of incredible results that the Blues have enjoyed in various competitions since they turned professional. A particular highlight of the A3 Calendar is the 2-0 league victory against Aston Villa in 1962, which guaranteed Ipswich FC the First Division title. There are also match reports on the 3-0 victory against AZ Alkmaar in the 1981 UEFA Cup final and Ipswich's incredible 5-0 domination over Norwich in the 1977 East-Anglian derby, which featured a superb Trevor Whymark hat-trick.

Our Calendar Gift additionally features stories about the promotion-clinching matches of 1954, 1957 and 1992 respectively. We have also included a terrific report on the 5-3 win over Bolton in the first leg of the play-off semi-finals in 2000. The Blues had lost at this stage of the competition in the previous three seasons, but this glorious win - aided by a Magilton hat-trick - ensured a breakthough victory for Ipswich Town that would culminate in promotion to the Premier League.

The Ipswich Football Diary is completed with a selection of outstanding matches that ended in staggering scorelines in favour of the Blues. In 1962, Ipswich FC thrashed Floriana 10-0 in the first leg of their first-round European cup tie and in 1970, Manchester United were on the end of a 4-0 league mauling. The result would be even worse for the Red Devils in 1980, as Ipswich beat them 6-0 despite United goalkeeper Gary Bailey - son of former Ipswich Town player, Roy Bailey - saving three penalties.
